Herbert H. Brier, Jr. 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 29, 2018 at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Born in Staten Island, NY he graduated from Port Richmond HS and attended SI Community College where he earned his degree in Accounting. Herbert entered into the US Army National Guard 1969, where he served at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was also trained as a cook. For six years he served in the B Troop of the 101st Calvary at the Manor Road Armory on Staten Island. After the service, he worked as an Auditor for ACL Shipping Co for over 25 years, than to Scan freight for 10 years and then to ILA Shipping for 24 years.
Herb’s life was his family and camping.
He loved boating and fishing, especially with his son-in-law Billy and his grandson Andrew.
He also enjoy gardening and was an avid bowler.
But he truly loved spending time with his family and friends. As well as his 2 grand-dogs, Paige and Oreo.
Herb is survived by his loving wife, Gail Brier (nee Kirchhoff), 2 loving daughters, Amy (William) Creech and Lisa (Ronald) Leone along with 3 Grandchildren, Andrew Creech, Taylor and Ryan Leone and his loving Mother-In-Law, Margaret Kirchhoff.
Funeral service will be held at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:00am. Visitation for Family and friends will be on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm.
