Sarah Ann Cipriano, daughter of the late Alfonso and Dorothea Marullo, passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer at 7:01 AM on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Richmond University Hospital on Staten Island. She was 72. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sarah met and married the love of her life and raised their two children there until 1999 when the family moved to Staten Island.
Sarah was known to many for her warm, welcoming nature, her loving support, her lively sense of humor and her contagious laugh. She was a friend and supportive confidant to so many throughout her life. She was an active and passionate member of House on the Rock Church in Tottenville and a dedicated volunteer at Seaview Nursing Home until her illness forced her to slow down.
Sarah is survived by her husband Joseph Cipriano, son Patrick Cipriano, daughter-in-law Esther Cipriano, daughter Carly (Cipriano) Kazlauskas, son-in-law Christopher Kazlauskas and her three loving grandchildren Natalia, Victoria and Andrew.
Beyond her family, she is survived by so many friends who over the years became family. The love she forged throughout her life was evidenced by the tremendous outpouring of support she and Joseph received throughout the last few difficult years. We will never be able to express enough gratitude for the tireless and overwhelming care she was surrounded with. She was so loved and loved you all so much. She will be remembered with love and laughter—a life well lived.
***In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in her name to St Jude Children’s Hospital.

It’s hard to imagine just what a till this takes on all in the family, church and friends who knew and loved her. My family in the Poconos prayed along with John Velez many a morning for Mrs. Cipriano. Our prayers now focus on those who mourn that shall be comforted. Our thoughts and prayers with all and of course House in the Rock Church.
