Julio Nespoli 61
Born in Brooklyn, Ny,
passed away on December 12, 2020 at Memorial Sloan Kettering with his mother and sister by his side. He was survived by his mother Jean Nespoli., sister Debra Tompkins-Pace, Nephew Douglas Tompkins and all his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him very much.
Born and raised in Canarsie he grew up on East 99th street . He enjoyed just hanging out with his friends, baseball in the street, basketball in the school yard, movies and ball games. He was a big Mets fan. He remained friends with all his childhood buddies who he loved. He went to Holy Family School the class of 1974 . He remained friends with each and everyone, enjoyed the class reunions and cherished their friendships. He graduated from Canarsie High School and went into horse racing which he loved. He started as a groomer and then trained them before races at Roosevelt and pompano beach racetracks.
He then went into the food Industry at the Brooklyn Terminal market until 2017 when he decided to slow down and work closer to home. His last and best job was at Shop rite on Veterans road where he worked in the fish Department. He loved his job and his co workers who became good friends. We all thought Julio was going to be a comedian. His personality and story telling he lit up the room with laughter. Everyone said he was better then the professionals.
Julio loved to travel especially to Puerto Rico for many years with some of his good friends. He then vacationed in Las Vegas and then onto cruises which he enjoy so much.
The last 6 months he enjoyed going to wolf pond park everyday with his sister to walk and enjoy the weather. We enjoyed each other’s company and that made him so happy. I will cherish every moment we had together.
Julio was a good man. He was loving, caring and loyal to both family and friends. He is going to be missed by everyone. We are heartbroken and sad but down deep inside I know your not in pain anymore. Rest In Peace and just know we all love you and you will be in our hearts forever.

So sad to hear about Julio, a class act with a good heart! A person is judged by the people who love and respect them, Julio is guilty of being a wonderful person! When I was working in Brooklyn by the Terminal Market, I would see Julio every morning at Dunkin Donuts. We would begin to talking, needless to say, I was ALWAYS late to work. Thanks Julio for your friendship!

I met Julio when I was in P.S.272 we bonded immediately his mom dad and sister were amazing and always invited me over for a
Real genuine Italian meal for many many years we were best friends hanging out movies clubs we loved the same music and of course he always had a better joke than mine. He was a very honest hard working man that really cared for his friends and especially his family. We always had each others back a few years ago I tried to get in touch with him and we text each other.
When I didn’t hear from my best friend I had to reach out to Debbie and she said my brother us not feeling well I’llet him know you asked about him. I prayed for him and wished him well. It breaks my heart today 7/14/21 to hear that he passed I now know why he didn’t get back to me. Julio my best friend I will forever miss you
