Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt
Faith Chappell (nee Wetmore) sadly passed away at home on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 88.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on April 4, 1932, her family eventually moved to Staten Island, New York where she grew up on Holland Avenue in Mariners Harbor. She attended PS 22 and graduated from Curtis High School. Faith worked for many years at Kresgee which then became McCrorys but after they closed, she worked briefly at Jordans Card Store and then at Telco. During this time, Faith met the love of her life, the late Kenneth Chappell at a playground. From there, they went on to have 3 wonderful children.
Faith was truly a warm and loving woman. She was very sociable and used that to teach at Sunday school at Immanuel Lutheran Church, which is where she was married. Later in life she became a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
When it came to enjoying life with her family and friends, she certainly did. In her younger years, she loved to go bowling at Knotty Pines and then at Sunset Lanes where she was on a weekly bowling league. Faith enjoyed going to Atlantic City to play the slots, she enjoyed Bingo, Scratch-off cards and Rummy Cube. Once the grandchildren came along, Faith and her family would go to the Amish Country and to the Catskill Mountains where they would all have the best times together.
Faith is survived by her three loving children, Debbie (husband Brian), Donna (husband Kevin), and Kenny (wife Barbara). Her grandchildren, Stacey (husband Jeff), Andrew, Richie (wife Bronte), Kellie, Heather and Danny, as well as three great grand-children, Tori, Rylie and Chace and many other extended family members. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Faith is predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth, her four brothers, Harry, Artie, Johnny, Ronnie and her sister, Dorothy as well as her beloved grandson, Brian who passed in March, 2018.

Thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I’ll always remember your kindness and loving manner. Christmas wasn’t the same without you. I know you’re with dad. I love and miss you every day.
