Marianne Angelini (née Biondo), 69, of Staten Island passed away, Thursday October 21st, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones after an 11 month battle with cancer.
Marianne was born in New York City, on August 1st, 1952. She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Canarsie High School in 1970. She married her husband, the late Nicholas Angelini, on November 17th, 1985 and welcomed her beloved daughter Nikki in September of 1987.
Marianne worked as an Executive Assistant for the law firm of Davis, Polk & Wardwell for almost 39 years and cherished the memories made with longtime co-workers who had become like family.
In her spare time, Marianne loved attending the various pug rescue fundraising events. She enjoyed interacting with the pugs and their owners, raising money for various rescues so they could help other pugs in need, and showing off her own furkids. After adopting her beloved pug Tammy in 2009 she started volunteering in pug rescue. She helped many pugs find their loving forever homes. As a co-founder of Pug Squad she helped raise funds to help save medical pugs. This gave her special fulfillment.
Marianne also reveled in laughter. She could laugh her self breathless over an off-color joke or reference. Her easy smile and boisterous demeanor won her so many friends in her profession and in the rescue community.
She was the wife of the late Nicholas Angelini, daughter of the late Mariano Biondo, and sister of the late Louis Biondo. She is survived by her mother Cecilia Biondo, her daughter Nikki Angelini, her nephew Robert Biondo, her niece Nikki Biondo, her sister-in-law AnnMarie Biondo (née Zeena), and beloved pugs Bentley James and David Rose.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 24th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home. 1289 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302.
In lieu of flowers, Nikki is asking you to please send a donation in Marianne’s name to Pug Squad, SNORT, or the rescue of your choice.

Nikki,
I am so sorry to learn about the loss of your Mom. She was so full of life and had such a great sense of humor. One of those people who filled the room when she was present. She could always make me laugh no matter what mood I was in. I will remember her and pray for you and your family.
