Kathleen Gabel (Kilhullen) worked for 30 years for NYPD as a school crossing guard. She worked at many schools in Staten Island, although she spent the most years working at Public School 20, Port Richmond.
While working at P.S.20, Kathy spent her off hours volunteering and working events for the school. The staff and students there were like family to her. Kathy enjoyed puzzles, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She most recently enjoyed socializing and activities at Silver Lake Rehabilitation center, after a fall in March 2022. Kathy lost her battle with lung cancer, which had spread throughout her body on July 2, 2022. She is survived by one brother Patrick Kilhullen, several nieces and nephews. She had one daughter, Lori Scaglione (Gabel) and 2 grandchildren, Olivia and Daniella of Melbourne, Florida.
