Edna Borkowski, 86 passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022, at Charleston Memorial Hospital, West Virginia. Born in Staten Island New York, Edna grew up on Rossville Avenue, living in the original ten commandment houses. It was on Rossville Avenue that she met her loving husband Richard. They married in 1957 and raised their children in her childhood home. Edna left Staten Island in 2000. Edna was a home maker who enjoyed country music and had a love for animals. She enjoyed gardening and had a remarkable green thumb. Edna’s passing brings great sadness to her loved ones.
She is pre-deceased by her parents John and Amy Mac Dougall. Her husband Richard Vincent Borkowski passed away in 1993. Her daughter Wanda Jean Borkowski passed away in 2021.
She is survived by her children Donna Zegarowitz, Teri Lynn Tonnesen, John Borkowski and Carol Ann Lawson. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Richard Borkowski, John Borkowski, Jr. Kelly Zegarowitz, Jessica Henson, Matthew Borkowski and Sean Tonnesen. She is also survived by her siblings Amy Gould and John Mac Dougall.
Grave side service will be held at 11 am on Monday August 1, 2022, at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, New York.
