June Marie Crowley passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 19,
2022 at the age of 84. She was born to Clarence G. Crowley and Patricia (Waithe) Crowley on
May 23rd, 1938, on Staten Island, New York. Clarence was native to Staten Island while Patricia was native to the island of Trinidad and Tobago. June Crowley would be the youngest of three other pre-deceased siblings: Henry Crowley, Clarence “Babsie” Crowley and James Crowley.
June is survived by her daughter, Nanette Halliburton and son-in-love Garon Halliburton
who currently reside in Manchester, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her three
cherished grandsons: Khai King, Orion Halliburton and Ethan Halliburton; along with a host of
loving relatives here in the US and in Trinidad.
Being born and raised on Staten Island New York, June Marie would come to
know Van Pelt Ave and Mariners Harbor as home base for the entirety of her life. She
graduated from Port Richmond high school. Then would go on to graduate from Drake Business
School for Secretarial Skills. Afterwards, she would find her pursuits in a career working for
Gibbs and Cox Inc. successfully for 45 years as an executive secretary; retiring in 2001 at the
age of 63. In her retirement, she would spend her free time enjoying her craft of crocheting;
making Afghan’s, scarfs and baby blankets and hats for family and friends. Which everyone
dearly loved. She made them with joy and her love could be felt with each one she made. She was also a talented seamstress who enjoyed whipping together an “outfit” and would on occasions make her own pattern if she couldn’t find one to suit her liking, sewing seemed to come naturally. June Marie was an excellent baker, she couldn’t wait to start her fruit cakes, chocolate chip cookies & rugalach’s as the holidays approached. She loved making Christmas cookies with her grandsons.
She also enjoyed family outings and gatherings, which would include birthdays, family
reunions, barbecues, road trips with high school classmates and cousins to Atlantic City, visits to New Hampshire to see her family on the holidays or the occasional trip to see her grandsons play college football or run track. She was always ready for a road trip adventure. She would visit with family & classmates for luncheons & bus trips and reminisce on the good old days of Staten Island. She also enjoyed working with her family to help plan the Waithe-Newcombe Family Reunion in 2019; she was preparing and looking forward to the next one.
June Marie was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church. Everyone knew her
for her kind, generous, loving and sweet spirit. She was a friend to everyone who needed one
and had a special way of bonding with each individual. Although she had no biological sisters of
her own, she is remembered and thought of as a sister and Auntie to many of her cousins and extended family. June Marie Crowley will be missed tremendously.

Doctor Phyllis J Robinson says
I’ts unbelievable how time passes. I first met June when I was around 18, and June was a young teenager. Your uncle Lou and I often went to Staten Island on Sunday’s to have dinner with June and aunt Patty. We would stop in Brooklyn to take my two-year-old niece Joanne, with us. June enjoyed playing with her. After dinner, we all sat around talking and watching and television. This was during the early 1940’s until the mid 1950’s. I had not seen June from that time until the family reunion in 2019. I cried when I saw her. I will always cherish that memory.
All my love to you and your family.
Auntie PJ.
