Sandy left us too soon. We hope that your fond memories of Sandy sustain you all at this time. While we worked together on a Pratt committee for a short time, it was apparent that Sandy was a lovely individual. Our hearts are broken on your loss and our loss, and may her memory be for a blessing.
Mackenzie Adriance says
Sandy and I had the chance to work together through Staff Council at Pratt Institute and I will never forget her warmth, humor, and care. She was always the first to congratulate, encourage, and give her genuine feedback — which is an undervalued trait! I will miss her.

Sandy!!!!!
I can see you now:
Relaxing – at last – in the sunshine on a South Carolinian beach, watching herring gulls weaving the weft of the horizon’s silver thread, a glass of wine in your hand, and all the love from all your friends, co-workers, and family bringing that infectious, beaming smile to your kind and beautiful face.
It was an honor to work with you when I was your dean, and more recently, as your colleague in the GCPE department at Pratt. I appreciated every YouTube film you sent me about how to manage my health condition last semester. You never stopped being so full of love and care – alongside keeping it real with your (much-needed in NY) cynicism and humor. And, I know how much you loved your family and especially your son – to whom I send my most sincere condolences – even though I know you will always be with them.
Thank you for everything, Sandy.
May you always burn brightly.
Harriet

Offering my sincerest condolences to Sandy’s son and family knowing how huge a loss this is. I loved working with Sandy – she was eager to get the work done, knew how to have fun at the same time, and always interested in how others were doing. A special person indeed who will be sorely missed.
Patti Ciavarelli says
To everyone that knew Sandy, I know how you feel.
Sandy was always a ray of sunshine in every conversation, the glass was always half full or more when it passed through her hands.
I didn’t get to work with her often, but each time I did, we ended up in a long conversation about this or that and I always appreciated her time and attention.
As a co-worker she was the best, and as a colleague she was always very kind and friendly and I hope I told her how much I appreciated her.
We are all better for having known her, she will be missed very much!
Farzam Yazdanseta says

Sandy was awesome. She always looked on the bright side. She dealt with adversity with a can-do perspective — looking at it straight and aiming straight. I enjoyed every interaction. She leaves behind a vast legacy of goodwill here at Pratt and, I am sure, among her family and friends. I knew her as one of the GCPE professors but felt she was a friend. She had a positive impact. What a loss that she has died too soon. I wish you the best in the face of this adversity.
