Stephen J. Brown, Esq., age 55, of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Staten Island University Hospital, after a brief illness.
Steve was born on August 10, 1968, to John S. Brown and Lorraine T. Brown in Morristown, New Jersey. After Steve graduated from Plattsburgh Senior High School in 1986, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, and his beloved Michigan State University, where he earned his degree in chemistry. He then studied toxicology at the University of Cincinnati, before earning his Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property, Commerce and Technology from the Franklin Pierce Law Center of the University of New Hampshire, in Concord, NH. Steve’s legal career focused on intellectual property law, specializing in all aspects of patent practice and litigation, most recently at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP.
In 2002, Steve met Heather Caruso, while both lived in Manhattan, and they were married the following year. Steve and Heather lived a loving and joy-filled life, and were blessed with two beautiful children, Sophia F. Brown, and Stephen A. Brown, all of whom he adored beyond measure.
Steve was a selfless and giving man who lived for his family and friends. In recent years Steve extended his interests into culinary endeavors and was passionate about sharing his
newfound joy of cooking with those he loved, as well as those in need. Steve was renowned for his love of education and learning, as well as his comedic gruffness, and all will be missed dearly by those fortunate enough to have had him as part of their lives.
Steve is survived by his wife, Heather C. Brown; his children; his parents; his brother, Darren M. Brown, Darren’s wife, Karen, and their children, Devon, and Sydney.
