According to grief specialists, a form of commemoration of your loved one is essential to healing from your loss in a healthy manner. A funeral provides mourners with a supportive and caring environment in which to express their feelings and thoughts about the departed and his or her passing. A funeral gives them the opportunity to pay their final respects and find a sense of comfort during a time of deep grief. At the funeral, they can share their memories of the loved one with each other and offer their condolences to the family. A funeral helps the group accept that death is a part of life and eases each person’s transition into life without the loved one.
It is also widely held by grief experts that viewing aids the grief process by helping the bereaved recognize the reality of death. Children are encouraged to participate in the viewing if the process is explained and they attend voluntarily. We can arrange for the viewing of your loved one to be either a private event for family only or open to the public. You can also decide whether the casket is open or closed.
After a viewing and funeral, you can choose to either inter or cremate your deceased. In the case of interment, we provide options for earth or above ground burial. We also offer the graveside service, where friends and family come together at the burial site for a dignified and respectful ceremony, often after the visitation. In instances where cremation is selected, the loved one is placed in either a cremation or rental casket and is cremated after the viewing and funeral.
