Judith D. Baker, born on November 7, 1944, in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been residing since October 2023. She was 79 years old.
Born to George and Florence Andersen, Judith was a beloved mother, sister, and friend, known for her compassionate nature, deep love for animals, and appreciation for history. A former member of Nansen Lodge, she was proud of her heritage and active within her community. Judith had a special affection for Colonial Williamsburg, finding joy and inspiration in its historical charm and beauty.
An avid collector of Department 56 pieces, Judith’s home was filled with miniature villages that brought the holiday season to life. Her collection was a source of pride and joy, reflecting her love for creating magical moments and sharing them with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Stephen Baker, her beloved son, Michael Tramutola, and her brother, George Andersen. Judith is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy Shidemantle, and her husband, Thomas; her sisters, Debra Andersen and Susan Andersen Naglich, along with Susan’s husband, Stephen Naglich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Cherubini & McInerney Funeral Home on Monday, September 30, 2024, with visitation from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private cremation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judith’s memory to a local animal shelter, honoring her lifelong love for animals. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
